Must See: Dead Man’s Shoes
Every now and then you stumble across a movie you never heard of before, but seems interesting nevertheless, leaving you amazed in your seat when you are finished watching it.
For me this was the case with Dead Man’s Shoes, an underrated British low-budget thriller.
Dead Man’s Shoes tells the story about Richard, and estranged soldier returning to his small hometown in England in order to get even with a group of people who had humiliated and taken advance of Anthony, his intellectually disabled little brother. What follows is a straightforward but very gripping story of a man on a revenge mission.

Dead Man’s Shoes was released in 2004 but I hadn’t heard anything about it back then. That was until I read about it in a tiny movie review section in our tv guide not too long ago. I’m a sucker for revenge movies so I decided to give it a try. In the end, sitting through this movie was just like a big rollercoaster of emotions for me. Paddy Considine’s character gets more menacing as the story progresses, but it’s Toby Kebbell’s portrayal of the mentally challenged Anthony that blew me away.
Truly a sad, dark and moving film and highly recommended to all film-lovers. Go see it if you haven’t already.
