Plot
The Challengers From Beyond are captured by the Extremists on Earth 8 which allows the Monitors to locate them.In the sewers beneath Metropolis, Jimmy Olsen - who appears to be returned to normal following the Cadmus experiments - is found by the Newsboy Legion.Off the coast of Themyscira, Holly Robinson survives the sharks and sea serpents to gain land, as does Harleen Quinzel.Trickster and Pied Piper - along with Double Down - discuss the rumours that villains are being taken away by heroes and not returning. Unknown to them, they have been found by others planning to capture them.Mary Marvel, under the tutelage of Eclipso, has eased a drought in Turkey with torrential rains, forcing the villagers to ask her to stop. Instead, Mary turns the villagers' livestock into fish, saying they can now become fishermen.Brother Eye, angry that it has been disturbed, seals Karate Kid and the others in its chamber, firing a beam at Karate Kid.On Earth 8, the Extremists attempt to gain information from the Challengers and are interrupted by the Monitor who inadvertently allows the Challengers to escape. The Monitor reveals that he has killed the Jokester's daughter but they are interrupted again, this time by the arrival of Monarch. The Monitor fires at the Challengers, killing the Jokester, before they escape. The Monitor then disappears, leaving the Extremists and Monarch. The Challengers, meanwhile, had merely transported themselves to a nearby balcony where they can hear Monarch offer the Extremists the chance to join him in his war against the Monitors.
