8 1/2 Women is a story of the successful banker Philip Emmenthal (John Standing) who is emotionally not fit. He is suffering from trauma and depression after the death of his wife. His son, Storey (Sacha Vierny) visits him and they watch Fellini’s 8 ½, a movie together. After watching the movie, both of them decide to use their house as a bordello and they try to get women from Japan for their harem. They find an assortment of women like Giacando (Natacha Amal) who frequently gets knocked out. Then there is Simato (Annie Shizuka Inoh) who agrees to be the mistress of Philip for one year with a never ending credit at the gambling house owned by Philip. One of the women is a novice nun named Griselda (Toni Collette) who was almost going to be jailed. She is saved by Philip and sports a strange ascent in the movie. There are six more women and the movie is called 8 1/2 Women because one of the women Giulietta (Manna Fujiwara) is crippled and has no legs. Philip and Storey find a new meaning and spirit for their lives with these women.
