“Boiling Point” opens with two police officers, Jimmy Mercer (Wesley Snipes) and his partner Brady (Dan Hedaya) conducting some undercover work. When Brady is shot and killed by a new gunman, Ronnie (Viggo Mortensen) hired by Red Diamond (Dennis Hopper) who he pulled right out of jail, Mercer looses his mind. Now with a transfer in the works, Mercer wants to hunt down the killer and take him out before he has to leave for another precinct. Faced with having to do it ‘by the book’, Mercer must decide if he’s reached his limit and deal out his vengeance in his own fashion.
