In "Caved In", John Palmer (Christopher Atkins), a knowledgeable cavern explorer, is ready to go on vacation to Switzerland with his wife and kids when he gets an offer from Vincent, (Colm Meaney) a man calling himself the ultimate thrill-seeker. Vincent offers to pay Palmer good money if he will lead him and his band of travelers into a cave that has been closed off for years due to a previous cave-in incident. What Vincent fails to tell Palmer is that he is really a fortune hunter who is looking for a cavern there purported to be jam-packed with emeralds. Palmer agrees, and they all trek into the cave. One of Vincent's friends named Marcel (David Palffy) emerges as the most greedy of his group and begins killing his own team so there will be more emeralds for himself. If this wasn't a dangerous situation enough for Palmer's family, they soon encounter hundreds of behemoth beetles who attack them.
