When a high school physician (Dennis Patrick) rules that an exemplary student named John Carluccio (Paul Carafotes), who can play the violin and is quarterback on the football, must be prevented from playing football because of a hearing impairment, the young man starts to make bad choices. His parents, Gary and Jean (Victor French, Lelia Goldoni) are distraught. What’s worse, his father wants him to give up football, but play classical music on the violin. His teammates are unable to help as the young player turns to cocaine and bad company. Only the intervention of his girlfriend Corri (Demi Moore) can help to assuage his depression.
