Allan Quartermain (Cedric Hardwicke) is an adventurer who has been convinced by Kathleen O'Brien (Anna Lee) to help her locate her missing father. Her dad, Patrick O’Brien (Arthur Sinclair) has been searching for the fabled diamond mines of King Solomon. When he doesn’t return, Kathy and their guide Umbopa (Paul Robeson) turn to Quartermain for help. The party sets off and is caught in a desert. They get found by some natives and are being taken to their village king. It is there that Umbopa reveals that the throne of the village truly belongs to him. Quatermain now must help Umbopa fight for his throne so that they can finally locate both the mines and Kathleen's missing father.
