Plot
Peter Gabriel: Play is a collection of videos that pretty much span his entire career. You get to see the promo for “Modern Love” from 1977 (shortly after he left the soon to become Super Group Genesis), the “Growing Up” video from 2003, and pretty much everything in between. All the big hits are here, such as “Sledgehammer”, “Red Rain”, “Solsbury Hill”, “Shock the Monkey”, “Big Time”, and the crowd pleasing “In Your Eyes”. You also get to see lesser heard, fan favorites like “Biko”, “Shaking the Tree”, “Don’t Give Up” and more. Peter has always been as much a visual artist as a musician, and all the videos are done in collaboration with well respected and innovative directors. They are experimental, conceptual, inspirational, and sometimes downright wacky. If you have only seen a few of his hit songs on video, you owe it to yourself to view this DVD, you will not be disappointed.
