During the late 1930s, a young machinist-in-training at a Montreal trade school named Maurice Richard (Roy Dupuis) is a man of few words. He decides to disguise himself as an ice hockey player. His junior team mostly consists of working-class youths, but they managed to win a key competition against their opponents with Richard as the leading man. Soon after, for the Montreal Canadians, Richard proves to be aggressive as well as skillful player which then makes him one of the greatest players of all time known as "The Rocket." He ultimately becomes Quebec's cultural icon through sheer force of will and hard work. However, his loyal fans starta riot when Richard gets suspended from his league.
