After a brand new Mirage 2000 vanishes during the Farnborough aeronautical airshow, two pilots, Antoine Marchelli (Benoît Magimel) et Sébastien Vallois (Clovis Cornillac), are sent on patrol to try and locate it. When the Mirage pilot finds out he's been tracked down, he tries to attack his pursuers. Marchelli is forced to destroy their opponent to save his partners, even if his orders were to abandon the pursuit. Marchelli is then falsely accused of not following the orders, causing the loss of an expensive plane, and is discharged from the Air Force.
Vallois and Marchelli soon discover they've been manipulated when they're strongly encouraged to enter a secret force called "Special Missions". During one of those missions, they find out about a terroristic organization who plans to shoot down a plane above Paris on Bastille day.
