Trailer
Plot
Cassie Grant (Christina Ricci) is a young American woman backpacking through rural England when she is struck by a car driven by Marion Kirkland (Kerry Fox). Marion takes her to the hospital, and when she awakens with near total amnesia, takes her home to recover. She becomes a sort of de facto au pair to the Kirkland household, but remembers virtually nothing of her past but her first name. Marion's stepson Simon (Stephen Dillane) is studying the remains of an old church that another accident revealed. In the church is an odd image of the crucifixion with an unexplained group gathered around just watching-"The Gathering." It's unlike any other art of the crucifixion and Cassie is intrigued by the gathering and who they are. The Bishop (Robert Hardy) is troubled by the picture and in the interest in the ruined church. She begins to have brushes with the occult, seeing visions and having precognition of events that will happen. Eventually she discovers her own identity and the connection it has to this little town and the events in it. The fate of The Gathering is discovered and all must deal with what they predict for the town.
